Birds of Himalayas

Birds in Himalayan ranges are colorful, its pleasure to watch and capture through lens. Though I didn't get opportunity to do birding extensively these are images that captured during Kuari Pass Trekking in UttarKhand.

Birding started during our journey from Haridwar to Joshimath,  In this journey we spotted Himalayan Griffon Vultures, Crimson Sunbird, White Capped Water Red Start, Golden Eagle, Black Lored Tit, Blue- Whistling Thrush, Himalayan Laughing Thrush and Scally Bellied Wood pecker.

During our trekking we spotted - Plain Backed Thrush,Black Headed Jay, Yellow Billed Blue Magpie, Himalayan Woodpecker, Kalij Pheasant, Rock Thrush, Red Vented BulBul, Mistle Thrush, Rufous Sibia,Common Stonechat, Large-spotted Nutcracker,Black and Yellow Grosbeak and Ashy Bul Bul

Blue-tailed Bee-eater - Nagunalli

Location :- Nagunalli - Mysore Outskirts

       Blue-tailed bee-eater - strongly migratory, seen seasonally in much of peninsular India.

                This species is sometimes considered to be conspecific with the blue-cheeked bee-eater. These birds breeds in sub-tropical open country, such as farmland, parks or ricefields. It is most often seen near large waterbodies. These birds migrate to Nagunalli water banks every year, delight to see them playing and nesting. They make a relatively long tunnel in which the 5 to 7 spherical white eggs are laid. Both the male and the female take care of the eggs.
